Historical Allies Update

SOON: A major evolution of Historical Allies is coming, bringing new progression, new Skills, and a lot more strategic depth!

We’re rolling out a series of impactful improvements that will make managing and upgrading your Allies smoother, clearer, and far more rewarding! Upcoming update introduces quality-of-life upgrades and early balance adjustments, with even bigger progression features, including Rarity Ascension (permanently upgrades your Ally's Rarity) arriving later this year!

The first batch of the Historical Allies update is already on BETA and these initial improvements prepare the feature for the exciting advancements to come!

Enough teasing, let’s take a look at what’s new:

Your voices mattered, and thanks to your strong poll responses, it’s now official! Rarity requirements are gone, and ALL buildings with an Ally slot have now opened their doors to every Ally rarity! Thank you for helping shape the future of Forge of Empires!

✔ Now you are able to freely place Allies of any Rarity in any building with an Allies slot, no more restrictions on Ally assignment and no changes required in your existing city!

We’re also updating some existing Allies Boosts to prepare them for the new Skill system, based on the Allies Rarity (only Allies that already exist in several Rarities will receive visible changes).

Why are we doing this? We’re simplifying how Skills will grow. From now on, each Rarity unlocks one specific Skill, and that Skill will progress the same way no matter which Rarity version of the Ally you own. This makes different Rarity versions of the same Ally more consistent, easier to understand, and (in many cases) stronger.

Will it affect current Allies? A few Allies with multiple released Rarities will receive a direct buff to keep them in line with the new system. We’ve increased the base values of Boosts for:

  • Spartan Soldier (Common & Epic)

  • Alexander the Great (Common & Uncommon)

  • Arminius (Common & Uncommon)

  • Boudica (Common & Uncommon)

  • Nebuchadnezzar II (Rare)

  • Melisende (Rare)

 *For all of these Allies you will now notice higher Boost values.

  • As you have already notice we’ve simplified the Scroll system to make leveling up your Allies faster and easier to understand: 1 Heroic Scroll = 1 XP (no progress lost, just cleaner numbers).
  • We also implemented 250,000 cap for existing Heroic Scrolls, and 100,000 cap for Valor Tokens – new currency you will need to Ascend your Allies when the major update will be released!
