Is it necessary to connect buildings, or place streets?
No, you can place all of your buildings anywhere on the island and they will fully function! And while it is possible to construct streets via the Decorations that can be found in the Construction Menu, these streets are not required for the buildings to function - they are only to make your Camp look even more stunning!
