How do I gain population?

There are several ways to increase your population:

You can increase your population by building more Residences. If you don't have enough free space in your city - try unlocking more technologies for your Residences and then upgrade them to higher levels.
Some culture buildings also provide population. The Wayfarer's Tavern and Giant Snail Palace are examples of these.
You can build Ancient Wonders to your city which give population as a special effect. The Golden Abyss and Mountain Halls could be good options for you.
Last but not least, you can also gain some quick population by selling a building which requires Working Population. Generally, this can be used as a last resort.
