Happy 14th Birthday to Forge of Empires!
Fourteen years of building empires, forging alliances, and rewriting history—what a journey. To celebrate Forge of Empires’ 14th Anniversary, we’re inviting you back into a brand-new chapter of our Gem expedition. Strange artifacts, bold theories, and glittering discoveries await… and our scientists need your help once again.

The Anniversary Event will run from March 3rd to March 24th on the BETA server.

A New Expedition Begins
Our scientists are back in the field, continuing their investigation into a collection of strange and powerful ancient Gems. Their latest findings suggest these relics may be even more unusual than first believed—but to uncover the truth, they’ll need your help.
During the event, you’ll spend Energy to spawn Gems, merge them to create stronger pieces, and use those pieces to unlock sealed Gems on the board. Once all locked pieces have been freed, you’ll move on to the next board and continue your expedition—earning rewards as you go.
Important! What’s New This Year?
If you’ve played previous Anniversary Events, you’ll notice that this year’s journey has a different rhythm.
A refreshed merge flow
At its heart, the Anniversary Event still revolves around spawning and merging Gems. However, the Key Converter you used to use in previous iterations is no longer necessary, and so are the Keys. This Event, we move to a simplified version of the familiar mechanic.
You will still need to unlock and level up the Gems available to you on the board, and some will still contain key halves. When two opposite halves are merged together, the resulting Gem immediately becomes a colorless Gem on the board. Key halves are transformed together with the Gem and keys are no longer used in this mechanic.
Colorless Gems behave just as they did before:

they can merge with any color

and they still level up when merged
Automatic board completion
Once you unlocked all locked pieces on the board, it will be automatically completed. The completed board will disappear, giving way to the new one with new Gem merges to make, so you can continue merging right away. Remember, in this Event iteration there are no board completion rewards, but something else that's new...
Tasks now drive your rewards
This year, a new Task system plays a major role in the event, replacing chests and board completion rewards!
As you play, you’ll complete Tasks that reward you with:

World Challenge progress

Grand Prize progress
This means Tasks are now one of the main ways to advance and earn rewards during the event.

New Tutorial. Because the Event works differently this year, the tutorial has been updated to introduce the new systems and help you get started with the refreshed minigame.

The World Challenge. Your completed Tasks also contribute toward shared goals of an entire game world.

Two new Item Stores: Anniversary and World Challenge, to help you choose your own rewards.

The Grand Prize
At the heart of this year’s celebration stands the Grand Prize: the Anomaly Extractor. This impressive new building begins as an 8-level base building and can be enhanced with Silver and Gold Upgrade Kits. At the Gold stage, you’ll even be able to choose between two different upgrade paths, giving you more flexibility in how you develop your prize.
